i am from uk, using
somebody elses pc (therefore these are not their words)! i would like to say
a few things to marlock. I may not be great at the written thing but im sure
he will understand.
1) i am romany and have 200 times what you have
2) i am romany and 400 times the man you are and could prove it
3) you discriminate yet know jack **** (seems you sat on ya fat copper arse
your whole career)
4) how many "high profile" child abusers have been hushed
up about just out of interest?
5) gypsy shit was your mothers wedding cake. [sic]
Actually, I don't understand what
this well educated man is trying to say. He has 200 times more of some
quality I apparently lack, although writing skills and clarity of thought
are not among those qualities.
How he intends to prove his manhood
should be interesting. I have investigated many child abuse cases and the
abusers are now in prison.
It was interesting to learn that the
Gypsies are in the cake business. Since this particular writer is so full of
himself I'm certain he could produce many such cakes.
How Critics Flaunt Their Intelligence:
I found your web site
appalling, racist and ignorant. There are over 1 million Romanies (popularly
but inaccurately called "gypsies") living in the US. They're an ethnic
minority with their own customs, culture & language. Not all "gypsies" lie,
steal, and cheat. There are good Romanies & bad Romanies..just as their are
good, hard-working white people & bad, hard-working white people. One would
never be so daring as to make a website informing others of "Hispanic scams"
or "Jewish scams" - so why is it acceptable to make a wesbite about "Gypsy
scams?" There are many hard-working honest Romanies & to accuse 1 ethnic
minorty of such actions is absurd.
My Views
I will no
doubt appear cruel, but I can no longer restrain myself when criticized by
such illogical and silly people. For those who wish to view me as their
enemy, and who endeavor to discredit anything I have to report, then here’s
some advice. For starters, unless you enjoy publicly humiliating yourself,
proofread what you write before posting it on the Internet. In doing this,
you might avoid absurd comparisons, poor grammar, and spelling errors. To
say that, “[t]heir are good, hard-working white people & bad, hard-working
white people,” [sic] does little to enhance your image. Then, too, you need to ask
yourself why, of all the races within the American culture, you chose to use
white people as a comparison. Using your approach to life, one might
assume that you are a racist because you think that whites set the standards
that everyone else must live by. Perhaps you intended no such thing,
but I just wanted you to see how easily your self-righteous attitudes can
come back to haunt you.
Another good
practice is to read what your opponent has written, and then attack the
items you find offensive. By reacting to material that does not exist, or
by inserting creations of your own making and then attacking your opponent
for something he or she never said, only serves to portray you as something
less than an intelligent person worthy of any serious attention.
Above all else,
check your facts! You’ll never gain points by calling your opponent
ignorant, followed by a demonstration of how little you know about the
topic. In the present case, there are a few errors:
1. No one knows
how many Roma or Gypsies there are in the United States. The “over 1
million” statement is not even a good guess let alone a fact.
2.
Neither Gypsies nor Roma are a recognized minority in the US. Even if
they occupied this status, it does nothing to change how the criminal groups
make a living?
3. The
belief that there are no web sites dealing with crimes committed by members
within other ethnic groups is wrong. Examples of those sites appear on this
web site, however the critic’s never comment on them.
(see site link)
4. To claim
that it is inaccurate to call any Rom a Gypsy is, how can I say it ---
inaccurate. Perhaps the critics missed the many pages wherein it refers to
Roma who Call Themselves Gypsies! (see site example here.)
Many other critics have said
the Romani people have a right to call themselves anything they want. Well,
there are groups of Roma who engage in criminal activities and who chose to
call themselves Gypsies – so how hard should that be to accept?

Angry At Everything In Life!
Here's My Take On The Accusations:
Perhaps I have missed the point of this next self-described feminist warrior, but how she linked me to being a member of America’s spy industry is, if nothing else, highly entertaining. Aside from being a spy, I am also classified as a racist pig who hates Gypsies, and who attempts to cover up his racist activities through a public service web site, and by writing books, articles, and training materials for law enforcement officers. Damn, I’m good! Who else could operate out in the open and get away with it for so long? Unfortunately, thanks to this one time private investigator spy lady, my cover is now blown.
Rather than paraphrase Anderberg’s ramblings, here’s a link to her article: http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2005/12/330665.shtml
Ms. Kirsten Anderberg, a self described feminist, journalist, author, and ex-undercover spy, follows a predictable path of so many other illogical and hate-filled critics. That she harbors a lot of animosity for anything related to our evil capitalistic government, especially racist pig cops, goes without question, but that she pretends to know what she is talking about is nothing short of a scam. Lacking anything that resembles an educated approach to supporting her opinions, she conveniently avoids mentioning things that might cause others to doubt her views. For instance, she listed my book as an example of my racist views but conveniently forgot to mention that my co-author was a tenured cultural anthropologist from a very prestigious university. In other words, someone who studies other cultures for a living, and probably knows a bit more about the topic than she does.
So what has Ms. Anderberg done that makes her an expert on Gypsies? Anderberg’s web site treats her readers to some of the following topics:
• Vaginas in Mythology, Art, and History
Much as breasts have become a market commodity, vaginas have suffered a similar fate. Girls, women, boys, and men, are given little to no empowering imagery, mythology or language within American culture, regarding vaginas and female genitals.
• Too Angry For What?
I am often told I am "too angry." I have never totally understood what that means, honestly. "Too angry for what?" is what I always think. Too angry to be a submissive housewife? Okay, I agree with that. Too angry to be a complacent wage slave? Okay, that is true too. Too angry to sit silently by while my government commits what constructively amounts to international war crimes.
• Women Wage War On Weenie Wagger
Weenie Waggers. Guys who get off on indecent exposure. As a young girl, I had many an unwanted dick thrust upon my naked eyes, and I was scared.
• Surviving Controversy
The most important topics cause the most intense controversy when breached. It has often been said that if you are an activist, and no one hates you, you simply cannot be doing your job. I have been through a near spiritual journey over the last year, figuring out how to navigate the waters of controversy due to my outspoken articles.
Happy Father's Day, Dud!
Father's Day. My sister and I got so disgusted with my father, that we stopped calling him "dad," referring to him only as "dud" now for decades, even to his face. This is a call out to my brothers, to stop using women for free childcare, and to my sisters, to stop supporting and comforting men who abandon their children.
Stupid Crime Victims
Guest Book Comments by Hilda Schultheiss
It seems the KKK from Texas found a new race to blame and hate. The Romas (Gypsies). The unhappy citizens of Texas are blaming the Gypsies for every crime done in USA. The crimes that supposed to be done by the Romas are the following: When a Roma falls down in the shop and claiming insurance for the injury it is considered by the Texans as a crime; It's said, the Roma put the object front of him/herself to fall down deliberately to claim insurance. If the airport loses the baggage of a Roma and they are claiming compensation, again it is considered a fraud. You guys are more smart than to believe all this... are you? [sic]
This might come as a shock to Hilda, but I’m certain that insurance fraud is considered a crime everywhere in the U.S. and not just in Texas. As far as the Gypsy involvement, Hilda seems to feel that if “you guys” are stupid enough to believe the false claims filed by such people, then there is no real crime. And, no Hilda, the crimes are never said to “be done by the Romas”, but rather criminal groups who call themselves Gypsies
I’m equally certain that insurance fraud is committed by lots of people from lots of different ethnic backgrounds. Had this particular critic actually read anything on this site, then she might discover what sets the gypsy criminal groups apart from the others. Then, too, I’m sure facts have no room in some individual’s neatly ordered world.
It was also telling to notice that Hilda, quick to accuse others of harboring racist thoughts, would be so bold, or verbally reckless, as to lump members of the “KKK” and “unhappy citizens of Texas” into one nasty group.
One Of A Kind
Another Guest Book Comment by Hilda Schultheiss
Interesting. You are introducing yourself as a Roma, yet at this end of the page you say: 'strengthens the negeative views other have of you' ? I thought you were Roma but obviously you are not. Therefore, you are running a scam here to voice your racial hatred.. [sic]
I could be wrong here, but I’m pretty sure that Hilda is the only human occupying this planet who has visited this site and came away believing that I was a Rom or a member of the criminal gypsy groups who refer to themselves as Gypsies. I guess Hilda missed a few pages on this site and went right to the guest book.
If you have read some of the critic’s comments listed here, it might appear that none of them have any animosity towards the criminal groups that have made this site possible. In all fairness, I must assure you that there are many honest Roma who are disgusted by the activities of these groups, however, rather than waste time posting ridiculous comments on various web sites, they have instead chosen to occupy their time making a better life for themselves and their families.
College Level Logic According To Professor Ian Hancock
Here is an excerpt from an endorsement written by Professor Ian Hancock ( a Romani activist from Texas) for a Romani Dictionary written by Ronald Lee (A Romani activist from Canada).
Introduction (My comments are included in red)
This dictionary has been years in the making. For at least thirty it has existed in typewritten form, circulated unbound and in very few copies. Now, as the logical follow-up to his Learn Romani, Ronald Lee's dictionary has become accessible to everybody.
Some may question its thus becoming readily available. Romanies themselves are reluctant to share their language with others, for understandable reasons; especially in the past, those in the non-Romani world who have wanted to learn it have almost always had an ulterior motive for doing so, and almost always for their own ends rather than for the benefit of those who own the language. Grammars of Romani on library shelves in Germany are quietly and permanently removed by Sinti there (otherwise known as stealing books from the library) who have not forgotten what use knowledge of their language was put to during the Nazi period, the Porrajmos. (Noting an apparent shortage of words in the world, Porrajmos was created by Hancock and it refers to attempts by the Nazis to exterminate the Romani people.) One early draft of this dictionary was kept and destroyed by an American Romani woman who feared that it would fall into the wrong hands. Her concern was not unfounded; from her own city a small book entitled Gypsy Talk: Law Enforcement's Guide to the Secret Language of the American Gypsy appeared in 1993, written by Detective Dennis Marlock and privately circulated for use by the police. Its intent was “to help police officers interrogate Gypsy suspects.” The mistakes in it are legion.
Is the appearance of this dictionary therefore breaking a trust? Not at all. Rather than doing so, it is providing a means of making the extensive lexicon of Romani available to Romani speakers themselves, since it contains words that only the older generations now know. Besides, there are scores of Romani dictionaries available already (the Romani Archives in Texas has over a hundred different ones), (The University better post pictures of the Roma woman who stole the other books, or their collection might soon dwindle.) though very few of them have been written for English speakers.

My Reply
It’s been years now since Ian Hancock (aka Yanko le Redjosko) has placed me high on his list of enemies, and never during that time has he ever failed to amuse me with his antics. Throughout our tenuous relationship, Mr. Hancock has demonstrated an uncanny ability to simultaneously promote completely conflicting beliefs, and to arrogantly defend such contradictions as though each was the indisputable truth.
Seriously, Mr. Hancock has probably written some truly wonderful academic material, although using lots of words to say nothing much of value is hardly an academic achievement, but he has nevertheless somehow gained the respect of some of his fellow academicians. (At least that’s what he says.) I can only guess that what follows is something these admirers wish Mr. Hancock would have kept to himself.
In offering his support for a Romany Dictionary that was written by his dear friend Ronald Lee, author of another book titled Goddamn Gypsy, Mr. Hancock simply could not contain his habitual need to attack me. In the present case, Mr. Hancock once again trivialized the horrible atrocities that the Nazis’ heaped upon the Jews, Gypsies, and others deemed expendable. He did so by making an idiotic comparison between a 19-page Law Enforcement Guide to the American Gypsy Language that I wrote for law enforcement officers in 1990, to the atrocities committed against the Gypsies during the Holocaust.
Hancock, of course, failed to document exactly how the Nazis used knowledge of the Romani language to facilitate their persecution, but he does treat the reader with a vague reference to some unnamed Romani woman who destroyed an early draft of a Romani dictionary because she feared it would fall into the wrong hands. And as luck would have it, and according to Mr. Hancock, the woman’s fears were not unfounded because she actually discovered my evil booklet right there in her own little city. Only Hancock knows where this mythical discovery occurred because my booklet is not available on line or in libraries.
In any case, you can just imagine what atrocities might have occurred if this booklet received widespread distribution? After all, the booklet actually advised investigators how to gain control over the chaotic situations often created by Gypsy suspects who claimed that they could not speak English. To the best of my knowledge, the material within the booklet has never led to the mistreatment, torture, or extermination of any Gypsy criminal group suspects.
Mr. Hancock was also quick to point out that my booklet has lots of errors. This is a real shock to me because I would never have expected that the information I obtained from the various Gypsy criminal groups would ever consist of words and expressions not known to Mr. Hancock or Mr. Lee. Perhaps Mr. Hancock forgot that he once chided me for suggesting that he actually spend some time with the Gypsy criminal groups that he so often claims are being persecuted by the police. As he saw it, he wanted nothing to do with these criminal groups and that he refused to speak with them. Incidentally, the members of the criminal groups don’t think too much of Mr. Hancock either. As several of them have told me, “Hancock can pretend to be whatever he wants, but he ain’t no Gypsy.”
After exposing the dangers of allowing Romani language books, like mine, to fall into the hands of the wrong people, like Nazis, police officers, and others who don’t agree with Hancock’s historical revisions and fanciful creations, you must ask yourself why a language guide of this type (or the scores of others Hancock references) are somehow safe if written by Mr. Lee and others? Really, I don’t know how to think illogically enough to even come close to an answer.
How any serous-minded academician can believe or support anything Mr. Hancock has to say defies easy explanation. Perhaps they don’t care to be placed on his enemies list, or for some unknown reason they simply accept what he says without question. Whatever the case, I know why I am on Hancock’s list and I hope to remain there. I know what games he plays, how far he will stoop to promote himself, and how he pretends to speak for Roma worldwide. Certainly he speaks a lot, but that he has the support of the majority of Roma is at best highly improbable. However, if he does in fact occupy some type of a leadership role in the Romani society, then whatever problems they now have are guaranteed to be problems far into the future. They will remain problems because Mr. Hancock has for whatever his reasons chosen to vilify law enforcement officers or anyone else who dare challenge his questionable views. Hancock does this while simultaneously dismissing the victims of the Gypsy criminal group’s crimes as some sort of acceptable casualties during the Gypsies attempts to free themselves from what he claims to be constant persecution.
Refusing to speak intelligently about the criminal group activities that law enforcement must deal with, or insisting on using the Holocaust as a universal reason for everything that has ever, or will ever occur, hardly renders Hancock as a person to be taken seriously when it comes to Romani affairs. Perhaps he failed to hear the Dalai Lama’s advice during the meeting Hancock so proudly tells us about. According to Hancock the Dalai Lama informed him that it was crucial for the Romani to sustain the strength of the family unit within their culture and to keep their language alive but to lose those customs that are holding them back and keeping them from integrating into the larger society.
You might think that a college professor from Texas, one who claims to represent the world’s Romani population, would be intelligent enough to know that “those customs” the Dalai Lama references might just have something to do with anti-social behavior, like crime.
I must advise anyone who reads this, that Hancock will most definitely draft a 3,000 word response to this material, and that none of it will be any different than all the other diatribe he’s issued to date. But it is always good to hear from him. In his anticipated response I’m also certain that he will ask that those of you, who are horrified over my so-called racist activities, sign the petition from an outfit calling itself NRADO. (National Romani Anti-Discrimination Organization) With Hancock’s blessings, NRADO has set out to put cops like me out of business. I believe they have garnered a less than impressive 78 signatures or so, but what the heck----it’s the thought that counts.
